Pre-1960 Photo Collection Day

Saturday July 12th
10 AM to 3 PM

The Buchanan County Public Library staff will be on hand to digitally scan any photographs concerning mining in Buchanan County before 1960 that you would like to share. All scanning will be done while you are here. These photograph copies will be placed in the Buchanan County Historical Archives so that anyone researching Buchanan County history will have access.  The Historical Society will thank you for your generosity by giving each person who brings in photographs a printed 8 by 10 computer copy of one of their original photographs.

Post-1960 Photo Collection Day

The programs and events conclude with “dinner” out in the library picnic area. Featuring a taste of biscuits & bacon, buttermilk, moon pies, and other traditional dinner bucket fare. 

12 PM Awards for Art Show Winners 

1 PM  “Mining Coal in Buchanan County”

Will be presented for those who missed the first presentation.
