Find out about the Friends of the Buchanan County Public Library!
The Friends are a wonderful group of library volunteers and supporters who sponsor author visits and book signings, take on projects such as landscaping the library, serve as program volunteers, and raise funds for the library.
The Dollywood Foundation Imagination Library in Buchanan County is supported by the Friends. This program provides a book a month to children under five to keep for their very own. Parents or guardians may sign a child up at birth. Books will be mailed to the child's address every month until the child has his or her fifth birthday. There is no cost to the parent or guardian. The Friends raise funds and ask for grants to cover the cost of $30 per child per year.
The Friends meet at the library on the second Tuesday of each month at 1 pm and always welcome new members.
